It is a great pride and pleasure for me to be associated with Rajuk Uttara Model College at a moment when it is in the swim of getting digitized. I appreciate its recent move to launch its own Website, namely, “rajukcollege.edu.bd”. It is a time befitting initiative to meet the challenges of high-tech contemporary world. In an age of globalization and information technology, the importance of digitizing the educational institutions can hardly be overemphasized. Once we dreamt of changing the future with the strength of technology. Now it is the time to materialize our dream. Rajuk Uttara Model College has already started its journey in that direction. I am happy to learn that it has computerized its accounts and installed student and teacher management software. The entrance of Rajuk College into the global network through its own website would help it flourish further in its distinctive color. It would certainly add a new dimension to the continued successes of this institution that has already established its reputation as a role model across the country. I firmly believe that similar steps by other educational institutions will pave the way to transform our country into an IT-based society and translate our dream of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ into a reality. In fine, I would like to convey my heartfelt congratulations and sincere thanks to the Principal and other exponents working relentlessly to implement the electronic devices.

Brigadier General Md. Enamul Islam, psc, PhD has a long illustrious career in the Bangladesh Army spanning over twenty-nine years. His distinguished career is a unique blend of Command, Staff, and Instructional appointments at Battalion, Brigade, Division, and prestigious training institutions like JCO/NCO Academy and National Defence College. He has participated in two UN assignments as a peacekeeper in DR Congo and Sudan. He has served as Principal of Khagrachari Cantonment Public School and College. Brigadier General Enam has close interaction with the academic field. He successfully served as chairman of the governing body of Proyash School Chattogram and a member of the governing body of Army Medical College, Chattogram, and Chattogram Cantonment College. He has obtained a Masters of Defense Studies (MDS) from the National University, an MBA in HRM from Singapore Business School, Singapore; an MBA in Supply Chain Management from Northern University, Bangladesh, and an MBA in Finance from South-East University, Bangladesh. Brigadier General Enam obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia.

Brigadier General Enam is a reviewer of a few international high-indexed journals and is often invited as a Keynote speaker and session chair at international conferences across Asia. He has many empirical research works published in various high-indexed journals. He is happily married and blessed with one daughter and one son. He is a passionate golfer. He has a particular fascination for traveling, reading, and conducting research.

The magnificently designed Rajuk Uttara Model College stands proudly on the Dhaka-Mymensing Road in the heart of Uttara Model Town. It is about one km from the zooming Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport offering an impressive and eye catching view to the onlookers. It accommodates about 7256 students in two shifts. In an era of information and communication technology, due emphasis should be given on imparting knowledge on information technology along with high standard general education in order to make our students worthy citizens of the present high tech world. With this end in view, Rajuk Uttara Model College has opened a website so that everybody including students and ex-students of this college can be well informed of all the information and activities of the college through the internet. In addition, the college is on the verge of thorough digitization. The college accounts, library, admission procedure, compilation of results and preparation of students' progress report are going to be digitized. This will ensure easy access to required information and bring about a greater degree of transparency and accountability in overall administration of the college.
